Friends,

This pandemic has been going on for almost a year and a half, and it has completely changed life as we know it. We hope for a speedy economic recovery, but the toll this pandemic has taken cannot be overlooked. Many have lost loved ones, struggled with mental health, and have faced financial difficulties as a result of the long lockdowns.

For OPSEU/SEFPO members who are facing financial hardship, the OPSEU/SEFPO Regional Hardship Fund is available for you. The Fund provides emergency financial assistance to members who are in good standing and experiencing unexpected and/or temporary financial hardship. Assistance is provided based on need, duration, and available budget.

To apply for the Regional Hardship Fund, you can download the form. The form contains a checklist to guide you and detailed instructions for submission.

You can also find the form on the OPSEU/SEFPO Forms and Documents page on our website.

When we talk about standing in solidarity with our members, we mean it in the full sense of the word. OPSEU/SEFPO is here to support our members in the good times, and the hard ones too. Together, we will get through this and come out of this pandemic even stronger. In the meantime, stay safe and please reach out if you need help.

In solidarity,
Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida, OPSEU/SEFPO First Vice-President/Treasurer
