OPSEU celebrates ‘Facilities Staff Appreciation Day’

It takes a lot of work to keep any facility running smoothly – just ask the maintenance workers, housekeepers, environmental services staff, cleaners, groundskeepers, porters, tradespeople, and dietary/food services staff in any one of Ontario’s community hospitals.

It takes committed and dedicated staff to keep the wheels turning, and to make sure that facilities, like our hospitals, are safe and clean places, where patients can get back to good health. In fact, the health of entire communities depends on this important work.

Facilities staff are often working behind the scenes. Too often, their commitment and dedication in serving our facilities, our hospitals, and our communities, flies under the radar.

That’s why I want to take this opportunity on behalf of OPSEU’s entire Executive Board to thank the facilities staff who make our hospitals work, and all facilities across the Ontario Public Service and Broader Public Service.

We recognize your invaluable contribution, and we thank you.

In Solidarity,

Warren (Smokey) Thomas
OPSEU President
