At OPSEU, we work hard every day to ensure Ontarians have access to a strong and dedicated public service, helping to create better lives and communities.

This week, June 15-21, is National Public Service Week. Its original objective was to recognize the efforts of our colleagues in the federal public service. With the COVID-19 pandemic we are reminded about the critical importance of public services both at the federal and provincial levels.

OPSEU represents over 165,000 hardworking Ontarians who help to get us through everything – from the routine to the life-threatening. Today, our world is consumed by the pandemic. The work done on the frontlines by OPSEU members, and public sector workers at the provincial and national level, has kept our province and our country functioning in difficult times.

Now more than ever we know Canadians and Ontarians are thankful for the hard work and determination of public sector employees in both Ontario and across Canada.  We sure are.

In solidarity,

Warren (Smokey) Thomas, OPSEU President
Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida, First Vice-President/Treasurer
