On October 10...In Sault Ste. Marie, elect Jeff Arbus, NDP
Dear OPSEU member:
In this election, OPSEU's strategy is to support candidates
who respect the work our members do. Our goal is to elect MPPs who will make
our public services stronger and support the rights of working people.
Few if any candidates in this provincial election are as
dedicated to public services, and as well-placed to bring their
understanding to bear on provincial issues, as Jeff Arbus.
Jeff is running for the provincial NDP in the riding of
Sault Ste. Marie, and deserves our support. I have been in the area and have
spoken with Jeff about the campaign. It's going well, but each OPSEU member
and each trade unionist and their families must help to make it happen.
We believe Ontario can do better. That is why it is so
important to elect more MPPs like Jeff Arbus to the Legislature - MPPs we
can count on to stand up for strong public services and the rights of
working people.
That's why I -- personally and on behalf of the OPSEU
Executive Board -- am urging you to vote for NDP candidate Jeff Arbus.
A professor at Sault College, Jeff has been a leading OPSEU
and labour council activist for many years. In 2006, he served on the union
bargaining team and stood up for quality education during the three-week
strike by Ontario community college faculty. Jeff and his team stood on
picket lines across Ontario and made all OPSEU members proud.
Locally, Jeff has spoken out against the privatization of
services at the Sault Area Hospital. He will continue to fight for public
health care. He knows public services, and he knows the issues that matter
to working people. He'll make an excellent MPP.
By casting your ballot for Jeff Arbus, you'll be voting for
stronger public services and better jobs for OPSEU members everywhere.

President,
Ontario Public Service Employees Union
P.S. Don't forget! On Oct. 10, for the first time ever,
Ontarians will vote in a referendum to choose between two different ways of
electing our MPPs. Please help boost your government's performance - vote
