OPS: Information By Ministry |
|||
As many of you are aware, the MNR announced some of its transformation initiatives in February. This initiative has resulted in pre-notices going out on Feb. 28 2006. Seventeen OAG 8, seven FO1, one RTS2 and three RT3 classified staff received their notice. In the fire program, 24 seasonal staff received notice that their reporting location would no longer exist. The fire program has indicated that they will be able to offer most if not all affected seasonal employees work in other fire locations. The MERC team is working diligently with the assistance of the Job Security Department to ensure our members are placed in vacancies where they exist, looking for creative solutions and ensuring that the rights and entitlements as outlined in the collective agreement are maintained. Our next Ministry ERC meeting is March 22 2006 and we will provide an update for the membership shortly thereafter. Please contact any of the MERC members if you have any questions or concerns.
