Local 737 president Len Mason (Thunder Bay Jail) has been spearheading a petition campaign that has collected over 2,000 signatures opposed to the privatization of Ontario correctional services. Mason’s local MPP plans to present them in the legislature next month. Get in the act! A petition campaign is easy, and it helps communities get their voice into the legislature. Many OPSEU locals have been calling for an electronic version of our draft speaking notes for presentations to local municipal councils.
