December 20, 2007 The Human Resources Agreement
between the Federal government and the Ministry of Revenue was signed July
31, 2007. All impacted positions outlined in the agreement have been
provided with a job offer. All members who accept the job offer will exit
the Ontario Public Service on April 2, 2008. The Working Group will
continue to meet and discuss strategies to mitigate the impact to those
members who are employed in positions not contained in the agreement.
Regular updates will be provided by the Working Group and posted to both the
governments and OPSEU website.
On May 17th 2005, the
Ontario government and the Federal government signed a Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) on “shared priorities”. One of the priorities outlined
is an agreement to “create a single administration of corporate income
tax”.
The Memorandum of Agreement
to begin the transfer of corporate tax program from the Tax Revenue
Division (TRD) to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has not been signed to
date. However, the parties have agreed to jointly communicate all
information on both the Ministry and Union web site.
