The deadline
for filing your Classification grievance as per the Memorandum of
Understanding is the 25th of September 2001.
A list of System Officer cluster Representatives and
their work phone numbers is
now available.
These Systems officers have been selected to act as advocates and resources
for you, during your Stage 2 of the grievance process.
A training
date has been set for October 1, 2001 for these selected Representatives to
attend. This training will include education on the application of the revised
class standards for Systems Officers, so that they can provide you with the
best advice possible.
What do you do
now?
There has
been an agreement reached between the employer and the union to attempt to
consolidate same grievances and co-ordinate geographically, Stage 2 meetings.
To facilitate
this process the employer will likely be requesting time limit extensions to
the Stage 2 meeting.
We are
suggesting that you approve these extensions so that we can provide you with
the resources for a meaningful Stage 2 meeting.
In the
meantime many of you have indicated that the basis for your grievance, begins
with the fact that your job description is out of date or does not properly
reflect your duties.
We encourage
you to have discussions with your employer, with an attempt to come to some
agreement on your job description prior to the scheduled date for the Stage 2.
Look for
future Updates on the Web as they happen.
