April 18 is last day to hand
in MTO security check forms
OPSEU members in the Ministry of
Transportation of Ontario who are required to complete
consent forms related to security checks must do so by April
18.
The union met with the employer
yesterday. After reviewing the material on the MTO Intranet,
the two sides have agreed that OPSEU members will deliver
the required information either to their managers or
directly to the Emergency Management and Security Branch (in
the Ministry of Government Services) by Tuesday.
The employer will be confirming
with employees, in writing by the end of this week, that
they have the option of returning the confidential consent
form to the ministry-designated managers or directly to EMSB
in a sealed envelope
If you have questions about the
security check that you aren’t comfortable talking about
with your OPSEU local president or staff representative,
please call Job Security Officer Marg Simmons at OPSEU Head
Office. Marg is at (416) 443-8888 ext. 8377 or
1-800-268-7376 ext. 8377.
Individuals who are unable to
return their security check documents by April 18, or who
cannot access the security checks policy and procedures on
the Intranet, should speak to their manager. If the matter
can’t be resolved with the manager, members should speak
with their local president, staff rep, or Marg Simmons.
