Questions for Bob
April 16, 2012
For all of our ServiceOntario brothers and sisters who have an opportunity to
attend a “Town Hall Meeting” or a “Breakfast with Bob” event, here a couple of
questions you may want to ask Mr. Stark.
ServiceOntario currently has about 2400 employees. How many
employees will ServiceOntario have in two years?
If I have a job with ServiceOntario two years from now, who
will be my employer?
Many of us are at an age where retirement planning is a
priority. If I have a job with ServiceOntario two years from now, will I
have a pension plan?
The cost of postsecondary education has increased by 35% in
the last five years. Many of us are paying for or saving for our children’s
education. If I have a job with ServiceOntario two years from now, how will
my future income compare to my present income?
OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas has sent a letter to the Premier calling
for the withdrawal of the section of the government’s budget bill that will
privatize ServiceOntario. Please
share this letter with your colleagues and post it in your work place.
Please email your MPP and let them
know that giving up annual revenues of $2.7 billion by privatizing
ServiceOntario must count as one of the most short sighted and potentially
dangerous decisions a government has ever made.
