OPSEU Members Protest Changes to Ontario Disability Support Program
Sault Ste. Marie - Members of Ontario
Public Service Employees Union Local 601 held a Sidewalk Bake Sale and
Rally to protest changes to the Ontario Disability Support Program June
21.
“We’re donating the proceeds to the
local Habitat for Humanity Non-Profit Housing Program,” said Local
Vice-President Jenny Craig. “We chose this organization because our
community needs quality affordable housing and we need to help break the
cycle of poverty.”
The McGuinty government is making things worse for ODSP clients, said
Local activist Arlene Proulx.
“The government will no longer fund
emergency home repairs for some of the most vulnerable people in our
community. The Liberals really need to rethink their priorities.”
