Bargaining Unit Integrity Project: Protecting jobs, building power


We face an important challenge in the OPS – one that affects our members’ job security, their career development options, and our power at the bargaining table. That challenge is the transfer of more and more of our jobs to the AMAPCEO bargaining unit. We have launched the "Protecting Jobs, Building Power" campaign to rigorously defend our bargaining unit.

April 8, 2008 The union asked our members to help fight back against the employer's attempt to reclassify jobs outside the OPSEU bargaining unit by identifying questionably classified job postings. Thanks to the members active participation, the union reviewed close to 200 job descriptions and has filed numerous grievances. more...
