We’re putting the teams together.
On Saturday, April 21, delegates to seven OPSEU Regional
Bargaining Conferences around the province elected the first members
of the OPS bargaining teams for the upcoming round of contract
negotiations. Delegates elected 14 team members. Five more will be
elected this Saturday, April 28 in Toronto at the Central Bargaining
Conference in Toronto. One Alternate will join the Corrections Team
at that time as well.
The following members were elected April 21 to represent their
OPSEU regions on the Central Team:

Under revised OPSEU procedures, the 49-member bargaining teams of
past rounds will be reduced to 20 members, on two teams. The Central
Team will be made up of the seven delegates elected by their regions
(see above), plus one delegate for each of five bargaining
Categories, plus one delegate representing “unclassified”
workers. In total, the Central Team will have 13 members.
A separate Corrections Category team will have seven members, one
elected from each Region. The Corrections Team, elected April
21 will consist of:

Remaining elections (April 28)
Members of the Corrections Team will choose one of their number
this Saturday to move to the Central Team. That individual’s 1st
Alternate will then join the Corrections Team.

workers will also elect their representatives to the Central Team,
with all elections taking place this Saturday, April 28 in Toronto.
Voters in each group will consist of the seven delegates elected
