It seems to be working
Almost immediately after President Leah Casselman and the chairs of our bargaining teams lifted the media blackout on negotiations Monday, there was a management move on the corrections bargaining table.
This was important, because there had been no significant management response to OPSEU demands on corrections issues until yesterday.
Casselman called on Ernie Eves to get involved in this bargaining.
“This indicates that by staying strong and applying pressure to the MPPs at their offices and other targets across the province, OPSEU members are helping their teams drive to a settlement,” Casselman says.
It promises to be an interesting week for OPSEU pickets at racetracks and casinos across the province and at Algonquin Park, which is supposed to open fishing season this weekend.
