"Stop the intimidation of E.C. Drury members"
December 2, 2008
The management at E.C. Drury was sent a
clear and simple message this morning: stop intimidating
OPSEU members. Eighty per cent of staff at the Provincial
School for the Deaf in Milton are seasonal unclassified.
They work full-time hours from September to June each year
without the security of a permanent job. On top of that,
OPSEU members who exercise their charter rights to be active
in their union are subject to intimidation from management.
At this morning's picket, support for E.C. Drury members
came from members of Locals 229 and 234, as well as Nathan
Aubin, unclassified member of the OPS bargaining team, OPS
mobilizers from Regions 1, 2, 3 and 4, and the provincial
OAD and unclassified mobilizers.
