In Memory of Jamie Hamilton

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our OPSEU brother, Jamie Hamilton, who passed away at home in Parkhill, Ontario on September 18th, 2009.  Jamie had retired from his career in Children’s Mental Health.  Jamie was a founding member of OPSEU’s Children’s Treatment Sector in 1990.   He worked at Madame Vanier Children’s Services in London Ontario for 34 years and was active in Local 144.  He served as President and Chief Steward and was committed to both labour and social justice advocacy.  Jamie was passionate in his debates, and was incredibly supportive and encouraging of younger labour activists.

Jamie is survived his beloved wife and best friend Boneita (Edmunds) his son James Quintus C. Hamilton and daughter-in- law Angie Richter of Parkhill.  His funeral was held September 23rd.  Donations to Madame Vanier Children's Services, 871 Trafalgar St., London, N5Z 1E6 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

In sympathy and Solidarity,

OPSEU Children’s Treatment Sector
