Oshawa medical clinic workers hold information picket Wednesday

August 28, 2012

(OSHAWA – August 28, 2012) -- The October closure of the medical clinic at the Oshawa Health Centre will leave about 27,000 patients in the Durham region looking for a new family doctor.

Termination notices have been issued to the recently unionized 15 certified medical office assistants who work there.

The clinic’s assistants, families and supporters will be holding an information picket outside the Oshawa Health Centre tomorrow (Wednesday August 29) at 12:30 Noon.

The assistants are asking that the clinic’s owner, Dr. Adrian Pettyan, transfer the clinic to new ownership rather than close it permanently.
