OPSEU Workers at Community Living Huntsville reach tentative agreement

OPSEU Local 380 at Community Living Huntsville (CLH) has reached a tentative agreement, narrowly avoiding a strike deadline of 12:01 a.m. on December 22.
 
"Workers at Community Living Huntsville were pushed right up to their strike deadline in negotiations with this employer," said OPSEU President, Warren (Smokey) Thomas. "Thanks to all of the community members who showed solidarity during this process. Investing in workers means investing in the community."
 
"Our team recommends that the members vote in favour of this agreement," said Trudi Belrose, Bargaining Team Chair for Local 380. "We are pleased to have good news so close to the holidays.”
 
OPSEU Local 380 has tentatively scheduled a ratification vote for Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
 
Developmental Services workers at Community Living Huntsville support people who have an intellectual disability so that they can live, learn and work in the community.
