(THUNDER BAY – November 2, 2010) – Negotiators for the Northern
Ontario School of Medicine and OPSEU Local 677 have reached a tentative contract
settlement.
The bargaining team for Local 677, representing more than 150
office, administrative and technical staff, and negotiators for the employer
have recommended the deal be approved. OPSEU members will conduct a ratification
vote on Nov. 5. Details will not be available until both parties ratify the
agreement.
Agreement came this morning following a day of marathon
bargaining under the supervision of a provincially-appointed mediator.
