Jeanne Sauvé Family Services reaches tentative agreement with CAS

(KAPUSKASING )  - Following two days of conciliation this week, the bargaining team for OPSEU Local 639 representing 80 workers at Jeanne Sauvé Family Services has reached a tentative contract settlement with their employer.

A ratification vote is set for May 10.

On Apr. 21 members of Local 639 voted 90 per cent in favour of strike action, had negotiations failed.

Jeanne Sauvé Family Services staff members operate programs for at-risk children and young people in seven communities in northeastern Ontario, including Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Smooth Rock Falls, Timmins, Val Rita, Moonbeam and Hearst.
