OPSEU welcomes CAMH's commitment to work towards a violence-free workplace

November 13, 2008

TORONTO - The Ontario Public Service Employees Union welcomes a renewed commitment by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health to work towards a violence-free environment.

OPSEU has been pushing hard for precautionary measures that will make CAMH a safer environment for both staff and the patients they serve.

“We would ask CAMH to convene the Workplace Violence Prevention Program Committee as soon as possible to work on this issue,” said Warren (Smokey) Thomas, president of the 130,000-member public service union.
