| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 30,
1999 OPSEU launches its French website
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union now has its own French
website. The address is www.sefpo.org and the site is
entirely separate from the English www.opseu.org.
At the last OPSEU Convention in April 1999, many francophone members of
the union had expressed their desire to gain access to an Internet site entirely in
French. This is now a reality.
OPSEU president Leah Casselman is delighted with the new service offered
to francophone and bilingual members of the union: "I think it is essential to offer
this service because access to OPSEUs French website will allow francophone members
to obtain necessary information and better communicate with each other while giving the
French media in Ontario an easier access to information coming from the union."
OPSEUs French website www.sefpo.org
contains the following sections: Join Us, News (Press Releases and Action Faxes), Broader
Public Service, Colleges, Ontario Public Service, Grievances, Search, Links, Legal,
Bargaining, and Contact Us. In addition, francophone members will now have access to
information on Privatization Issues, Job Opportunities, the Insurance Savings Program, and
Legal News, and can read the OPSEU Constitution, and Our Ontario Magazine on line.
