OPEN HOUSE FOR QUINTE HOSPITAL WORKERS

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union will hold an open house in Belleville on Thursday July 15th for paramedical workers employed by Quinte Healthcare Corporation.

The event located at 268 Dundas Street East, across from Belleville General Hospital, will run from 3:30 to 6:00pm. It marks the opening of the OPSEU campaign office for the drive to represent paramedical workers. These include lab techs, x-ray techs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, mental health employees and dieticians.

Under the terms of Bill 136, the 220 union and non-union workers at hospitals in Belleville, Trenton, Picton and Bancroft will vote for either OPSEU or SEIU as their new bargaining representative.

Workers in Bancroft will vote on August 11th, while workers in Belleville, Trenton and Picton will cast their vote on August 12th.
