PORT SEVERN – Inside and outside workers employed full-time by the Township of Georgian Bay have reached a tentative agreement with the employer on their first collective agreement. Workers were scheduled to walk off the job at 12:01 a.m. Fri., May 18, 2007. The tentative agreement means there will be no strike action to affect cottagers this weekend.

“Our negotiating team fully supports the agreement, and will recommend it to the members,” said OPSEU Staff Representative Terry Krulicki. “We are pleased that mediation was able to produce positive results.”

Members will vote on the tentative contract on Thursday, May 25. Specific details of the agreement will not be released until after the vote.
