Local 274 – Hamilton
CCAC Ratify two year agreement
HAMILTON: Staff at Hamilton’s
Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) have ratified a two-year
agreement with significant improvements in wages, benefits,
vacation and hours of work.
The members of OPSEU Local 274
voted to ratify the new agreement giving them 3 per cent at
ratification and 3 per cent in the second year. The deal
expires March 31, 2008.
A significant gain was obtained
in compensating time, dropping hours of work from 40 hours to
35 hours per week with all hours worked in excess considered
overtime.
The local represents 187 staff
(case managers, placement coordinators and support staff) at
the CCAC. The bargaining team was Julie Lenko, Kim Richardson,
Bernadine Nabuurs and Esther MacLean (staff representative).
