Rally against provincial government plan to offload parole system to feds

TORONTO – Unionized Probation and Parole Officers and employees of the Ontario Parole and Early Release Board (OPERB) will rally at Queen’s Park Thursday to protest a government plan to transfer responsibility for Ontario’s provincial parole system to the federal government.

Date:  Thursday, October 13, 2005
Time:  11:30 a.m.
Place: Queen’s Park, Legislative Building South end of front lawn (at the statue of Sir John A. MacDonald)

OPERB staff and Ontario’s Probation and Parole Officers are members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).
