Canadian Blood
Services technologists reach tentative agreement
TORONTO, HAMILTON: A tentative
deal has been reached in bargaining between the Canadian Blood
Services technologists unit and the employer.
The 104 Ontario Public Service
Employees Union members based in Toronto and Hamilton will
vote on whether to ratify the deal on Aug. 23.
The two year deal expiring
March 31, 2007 would provide a wage increase of three per cent
in the first year, and would match the central increase given
to hospital technologists in the second year.
The deal also provides gains in
benefits and job security while maintaining parity with staff
doing similar work in the hospital sector.
The CBS support staff
bargaining unit ratified its own agreement last month.
