Tentative agreement
reached in private jail talks
PENETANGUISHENE – Correctional
officers employed at Canada’s only private adult jail will
vote Aug. 12 on a tentative agreement reached today at 9:30
a.m.
The bargaining team is
recommending that the staff of Central North Correctional
Centre, members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union
Local 369, ratify the agreement.
“This is a good deal for our
members and we recommend it unanimously,” said Sean Wilson,
chair of the union bargaining team.
Details of the contract will be
available after the ratification vote is held. The previous
contract expired on Dec. 31, 2004.
