College support workers prepare for strike

TORONTO – Support workers at Ontario’s 24 colleges will hold a strategy session on Tuesday Aug. 30 to prepare for a Sept 7 strike.

OPSEU President Leah Casselman will address OPSEU activists at 10:00 a.m.

The media will be invited into the room for Ms. Casselman’s speech and will have the opportunity to do interviews afterwards.

Date: Tuesday Aug. 30, 2005

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Place: Delta Chelsea Hotel (Gerrard between Yonge and Bay Sts.) Churchill Room

Bargaining is set to resume Aug. 30. If talks fail, college support workers will be on strike 12:01 a.m. on Wed. Sept. 7, 2005.
