Canadian Blood Services Technologists ratify contract

TORONTO, HAMILTON – Technologists unit at Canadian Blood Services have ratified their new contract.

The 104 OPSEU members voted about 97 per cent to ratify the two-year agreement.

The contract will expire on March 31, 2007. It provides a wage increase of three per cent in the first year, and will match the central increase given to hospital technologists in the second year.

The deal also provides gains in benefits and job security while maintaining parity with staff doing similar work in the hospital sector.
