Ambassador Bridge Duty Free Shop

August 18, 2005 In a large turnout, employees at the Ambassador Bridge Duty Free Store voted 100 per cent to give their bargaining team a strike mandate. OPSEU wants to negotiate a three year collective agreement with a three-year work term, while the employer, Ambassador Bridge Corp., wants to maintain the current one-year work arrangement but wants a five-year collective agreement. Wages are also an issue.

A strike date has been set for September 2, 12:01 a.m. Bargaining resumes August 23. There are about 50 bargaining unit members; all are students at the University of Windsor.
