Children’s Aid workers ratify collective agreement
LONDON - Workers at the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex have ratified a three-year collective agreement.
The new contract includes an average wage increase of nine per cent over three years, benefit and vacation improvements, and grievable workload language.
“This contract is a significant step forward towards controlling the workload of children’s aid staff,” said Lynne Easter-Froats, president of Local 116 of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union. “By controlling workloads, we know we can do even more to protect children in our communities.”
On the employer side, Children’s Aid Society board members will vote on the deal on Wednesday, June 25.
