Casselman wins fifth term as OPSEU president

TORONTO – Leah Casselman has been re-elected president of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union for a record fifth time.

Delegates to OPSEU’s annual Convention in Toronto elected Casselman over Bob Eaton, a probation officer from Prescott.

Warren (Smokey) Thomas was acclaimed for a second term as the union’s First Vice-President/Treasurer.

Casselman thanked the delegates profusely, urging them to “step up” to commit themselves to work to defeat the Conservative government in the upcoming provincial election.

“We’ve got a world to change,” she said.

Casselman was first elected president on April 28, 1995.
