Hampton to join OPSEU strikers for picket line rally in North York

TORONTO - Ontario NDP leader Howard Hampton will join OPSEU strikers and friends for a major picket line rally in North York Wednesday.

Place: 5140-5160 Yonge Street, Toronto

Members of Local 79 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees will join at least four OPSEU locals to rally with Hampton, who has been a vocal supporter of the strikers since they walked off the job March 13.

“The reality of a job action is that you quickly determine who your friends are,” Hampton wrote March 15. “I hope our demonstrable support shows OPSEU members without a doubt that the NDP is on your side and will express this support at every available opportunity.”
