Two sides to meet in Canadian Blood Services strike

HAMILTON - The employer and the union in the Canadian Blood Services dispute in Hamilton will return to the bargaining table on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 10:00 a.m. The two sides agreed to meet after a request from the Ontario Ministry of Labour.

“We sincerely hope bargaining will break out,” said Gary Adams, negotiator for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union. “If it does, we can wrap this up quickly and have our members back doing what they do best - protecting the quality of our blood supply. If it does not, the employer can only expect the pressure to intensify.”
