Union sponsors “Survivor”-style City Hall meeting on home care

HAMILTON - The union representing Hamilton-area home care employees will sponsor a public meeting Monday, Aug. 28 to discuss the province’s deepening home care crisis.

The format of the meeting, sponsored by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, will be loosely based on the “Survivor” television series. Hamilton Mayor Bob Morrow and other dignitaries will attend.

Time: 5:00 p.m.
Place: Hamilton City Hall

Nurses at the Hamilton-Wentworth Victorian Order of Nurses could be on strike as early as 12:01 a.m. Thursday if contract talks do not result in a settlement by that time.

“Home care: don’t be a victim” is the theme of the meeting.
