Due to popular
demand, OPSEU will be holding two Orientations for Local Presidents
in March 2013.
workshop provides an orientation for OPSEU local presidents to their
leadership roles within the union.
Day one helps
local presidents navigate OPSEU’s organizational structure, systems
and resources. Local presidents will also strategize on building an
involved membership through steward development and contract
enforcement with a focus on health and safety and equity as everyday
focuses on mobilizing the local through effective communication,
inclusive leadership, creating local by-laws and developing a
strategic approach to employer tactics. We explore practical
leadership responses to everyday situations through group work and
interaction with other local presidents.
