LBED Ratification Vote
July 17, 2009 After numerous requests from our
members and a confirmation of ballots, we are pleased to announce the
specific results of the LBED ratification vote.
LBED members voted 81 per cent in favour of accepting the
tentative agreement.
Once again, the bargaining team thanks all of the members
for their support during this round of negotiations.

Notice to all members of the Liquor Board
Employees Division of OPSEU
June 23, 2009 11:20 p.m. Please be advised
that the LBED bargaining team and the employer have agreed to extend the
strike/lockout deadline.
The deadline is extended until either a deal is reached
or one or both parties walk away from the table.
There is no fixed time for the
extension.
The parties have agreed that the collective agreement will remain in
place as long as the deadline is extended. Members should report to work until
notified otherwise.

June 1-2 strike training a big success
June 4, 2009 OPSEU members in the Liquor Board Employees Division were in Toronto for strike training June 1-2. Members learned about strike duties, took part in picket drills, and picked up pointers on talking to the media. One group of trainees focused solely on strike finances, including how to administer strike pay and benefits.

Bargaining Update
February 11, 2009 With the start of bargaining fast
approaching, the next round of member mobilization will begin shortly.
Liquor Board employee mobilizers will soon begin fanning out across the
province to schedule and organize membership meetings that will keep you
up-to-date on our bargaining plans and what you can do to help achieve a
good contract. Look for mobilizers coming to your work locations soon with
details of the meetings.
The union filed Notice to Bargain with the employer on Jan.
8.
Bargaining Update
January 29, 2009 OPSEU senior negotiator Rob Field
reports that important progress is being made in preparation for contract talks
with the employer. Since LBED delegates met Nov. 22 to approve the union’s
package of final demands, several key developments have taken place. On Jan. 8
the union gave the employer formal Notice to Bargain. A meeting has been
scheduled for Feb. 11 between both sides to take care of logistics associated
with bargaining.
LBED’s bargaining team met Jan. 12-15 to review your demands and
other business associated with the bargaining process. The team next meets Feb.
9-12.
Delegates put stamp of approval on final bargaining demands
The Echo, Issue 24, November 27, 2008 A process that
began almost one year ago with focus groups asking LBED members what issues
they wanted addressed in their new contract ended on Saturday Nov. 22 when a
roomful of delegates gave their overwhelming approval to a package of final
demands that negotiators will take to the bargaining table with the LCBO.
