A labour group says it now has 11,000 postcards and petitions supporting a drive to allow part-time workers at Ontario's 24 community colleges to unionize.
The colleges employ some 17,000 part-time workers, who are represented by the Organization of Part-time and Sessional Employees of the Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology.
It says Ontario law excludes the workers from collective bargaining and denies them such things as statutory holiday pay and vacation pay.
The labour group is urging the province to allow the workers to unionize, as recommended last November by the International Labour Organization.
