LABOUR DAY PARADE 2005

TORONTO A PROUD UNION CITY

We invite all OPSEU members and their families and friends to the annual Labour Day Parade.

Labour Day is our day. Our day to be proud of our unions, proud of OPSEU and proud of the work that we do as union activists and as public sector workers. It is our day to march together, to celebrate, to have fun.

This year’s parade theme “A Million Reasons to Organize” promotes the need to organize more Toronto workers into unions.

Bring your family, your friends. Labour Day is the last day of the CNE. For over 100 years, the Toronto labour day parade marches into the Exhibition at the Dufferin Gates – for free. There will be music, prizes, refreshments and great company.

Participants receive prizes – while quantities last. Locals with the largest turnout receive an award; one for a large local, one for a small local.

  • Meet at 393 University Avenue, east side, south of Dundas Street. Look for the OPSEU flags and signs.

  • Monday, September 5th, 8:30 A.M. Please don’t be late. The parade leaves with you or without you.

  • If you require mobile accommodation please call Abidh Khan at 416-423-7507 or Tony Carneiro at 416-787-7033. Limited seating is available.
