Election 2004

OPSEU federal election strategy:
NDP best hope for rebuilding public services

Last April, delegates to the OPSEU Convention formally endorsed support for the New Democratic Party in this election. NDP Leader Jack Layton received a standing ovation from Convention delegates when he underscored his party’s commitment to rebuilding public services for the clients and the staff who serve them.

We urge all OPSEU members to vote for the NDP, and if possible, get active in their local campaigns. And remember, every vote counts: Under new election funding rules, party funds for the next federal election will be determined by the total number of votes received on June 28.

OPSEU’s federal election strategy is directed by our Central Political Action Committee. We will be operating phone banks in key ridings in most regions, and members will receive a letter containing points to consider before you vote.

For more information, please contact the OPSEU Legislative Liaison Officer: tlittle@opseu.org
