In a worthy cause, OPSEU President Leah Casselman agreed to have her hair painted in multi-coloured tones in return for the Provincial Women's Committee raising at least $5,000 toward the union's Live and Let Live Fund, to help people fighting the ravages of HIV/AIDS in Africa and in Canada.

OPSEU Vice President/Treasurer Smokey Thomas delivers the budget.

Health and Safety Awards

Local 575 President Pat Collyer, left, and Local 581 President Rose Dawkins, right, share the Health and Safety award presented to the local which made the most significant fight for workplace safety in the past year. Their locals operate out of Scarborough General and Scarborough Grace hospitals, and their members were in the centre of last year's SARS outbreaks. They also accepted a special award to all of OPSEU health care workers who were affected by SARS.

John Lewis of Local 331 accepts the award for the individual who has made the greatest contribution to Occupational Health and Safety..
