Young workers -
along with people of colour, aboriginals, immigrants, gays,
lesbians and transgendered - are amongst the most vulnerable
workers in Canada. Often they don’t know their civil rights or
their rights as workers and this makes them vulnerable.
OPSEU Young Workers, winter 2008
Our goal is
to promote educate, motivate, mobilize and empower young workers
whenever and wherever possible.
OPSEU receives OFL Youth Award
December 19, 2007 At the Ontario Federation of Labour
Convention in November, Terry Downey, OFL Executive Vice-President,
presented the OFL’s Youth Leadership Development Award to OPSEU
Vice-President/Treasurer, Patty Rout, who accepted on behalf of OPSEU. The
award is presented to affiliates or individuals that take have made a real
commitment to youth leadership. The recipient is selected by the OFL Workers
