May 3, 2010 PHRC
will be holding an interactive discussion and forum on BILL 168: The
employer’s accountability: Missed opportunities, speak up, stand up! on
Friday, May 7th from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Civic Room, Sheraton Center. PHRC
invites members to learn more about the employer’s accountability for addressing
harassment and violence in the workplace. The Forum will be facilitated by
presenters Barb Quarrie and Margaret MacPherson. more...

To ensure promotion of Human Rights issues the committee has
undertaken the reproduction of Bullying and Harassment Posters, to be

PHRC Resolutions
Through Resolutions for Convention the PHRC are able to
introduce issues the Equity Caucuses (Rainbow Alliance, Workers of Colour,
Aboriginal Circle and the Disability Committee) would like resolved or
promoted.
OPSEU Human Rights Conference
The Committee has been planning the 2010 Human Rights
Conference which will be held November 12, 13 & 14, 2010, in the GTA. This
is the first Human Rights Conference for OPSEU. Representatives from the
Equity Caucuses, and a representative from the Provincial Young Workers
Committee are part of the planning committee. The details will be posted to
the PHRC website as they are finalized.
OPSEU Activist Wins Human Rights Award
Following is a speech made by, OPSEU retiree and life time
Human Rights Activist, John Rae after receiving the Access Award from the
City of Toronto on Human Rights Day. Congratulations to John and thank
you for all you have done to make our workplaces and Communities better.
