Annual Joint Leadership Meeting on Equity Issues
 

Every September OPSEU holds the Annual Joint Leadership Meeting on Equity Issues as mandated by Convention. This, the 6th annual meeting, was held Friday Sept 21.

The theme this year was Building Union Capacity Through Equity. More than 50 people gathered including the leadership of equity-seeking groups, and other OPSEU leaders, including the Executive Board, Sector and MERC chairs, and senior staff.

The objective was to learn and improve how OPSEU integrates equity issues into all aspects of its work including bargaining, public policy and organizing; to strengthen links between equity goals and union building; the mapping of work in the last 12 months; and collective reflection on what worked, and what didn’t.
