June 2003  A petition concerning Toronto Community Housing Corporation cuts to security services budget.  http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/TCHC/

March 2003 OPSEU continues to represent Security at Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC), now constituted as Local 529. The new local has elected 18 stewards and will soon be electing a new executive. Local 529 is preparing to negotiate a new Collective Agreement with TCHC and is participating in a campaign to keep housing security public. The Security Unit continues to be an integral part of the TCHC housing communities.

What happens after the June 13 vote

The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) has sealed the ballot boxes from the June 13 representation vote. A hearing with all the parties will take place Tuesday June 18. The OLRB will decide if the City is the employer, and what is the appropriate bargaining unit structure within the TCHC.

Once the OLRB rules on these two issues it will count the ballots.

Thank you for your support for OPSEU.
