Privatizing in the
Ministry of Transportation
July 24, 2001
Important message regarding Ministry
of Transportation:
Driver examiner
divestment delayed
MTO has notified OPSEU that due to the fact that
the Bill 65 did not pass before the Legislature recessed for the
summer, the ministry is delaying the Confidential Information
Memorandum (CIM) for prospective bidders.
If Bill 65 passes in the fall session, it is
anticipated that the CIM will be released shortly thereafter.
MTO has decided to reissue election notices /
letters to classified OPSEU staff closer to the release of the CIM.
In the event that legislation passes and a
successful bidder is found and approved by the government, transition
could occur by mid-2002.
