MPP Matthews
concedes more progress needs to be made on concerns of
college workers
August 27, 2007 - According to Liberal MPP Deb Matthews
(London North Centre), "Everyone tells us we made progress
in our first term dealing with the problems that were left
by previous governments. But we want to be re-elected so we
can make even more progress in these areas."
Matthews was speaking to OPSECAAT representatives this week
about the desire of part-time college workers to bargain
collectively.
She also acknowledged the fact that Ontario was ninth of the
ten provinces in funding per full-time college student.
