Privacy Policy
1. Information
provided to OPSEU as part of the campaign to win
union rights for part-time college workers will
only be used:

for the
legitimate purposes of the campaign, and/or
·
to
provide information of particular interest to
community college employees.
2. Information
provided to OPSEU may be of several kinds,
including but not limited to:
·
personal information such as name, contact
numbers, addresses, etc.;
·
job
information such as the individual’s rate of
pay, years worked, etc.; and
·
personal opinion on work-related issues.
OPSEU
will not disseminate or make public the personal
information of any individual without the express
permission of the individual. Where OPSEU makes
public job information, personal opinions, or
other such information, it will be done in such a
way as to ensure that individuals cannot be
identified.
3. OPSEU
will not sell or otherwise provide the information
or opinions it has collected in the campaign to
third parties. As is well-known, it is the
intention of OPSEU to seek the formation of an
association of part-time college employees. In
the event of the creation of such an association,
OPSEU may use information collected to assist the
formation and administration of such association.
However, OPSEU will not provide personal
information to such association without providing
the individuals an opportunity to object to that
information being provided to the association. In
the event of an objection, OPSEU will not share
the personal information of the objecting employee
with the association.
4.
Information provided to an OPSEU local at a
particular college, e.g. through a survey
distributed in the workplace, may be shared among
elected officials of the local and with OPSEU Head
Office. Information provided to OPSEU Head
Office, e.g. through an on-line survey or other
communication, will only be shared with an OPSEU
local at the individual’s college with the
permission of the individual.
