A bargaining team and Employee/Employer Relations Committee
(EERC) team were elected. “This weekend's conference was certainly an
exciting one, I am honoured to represent you, the members once again as
Chair of the Bargaining Team,” said team chair Rod Bemister, noting the
incoming team heard many comments about where the member's want to go during
this round of bargaining. “I speak on behalf of the team when we say the we
are looking forward to working hard for you and more importantly working
with you to ensure that your demands are heard and met at the table.”
“This past conference has been a historic one, it will be
the last conference where our brothers and sisters that work part time in
the Colleges are unable to unable to bargain/particpate officially,”
Bemister said. “Although there will be challenges around the part time
campaign, especially with the timing of bargaining, a wrong must be righted
and we will need to work hard to ensure that the injustice is stopped. We
look forward to a future where full time employees and part time employees
can work together, that future only moves closer with your support.”
